New application form

The application form on this page, as it was mentioned in another thread, is terribly outdated. It has not been changed since the creation of the forum. This would not be a problem if it wasn´t a quite bad one; asking too many OOC questions, like character class, level and professions, and not many IC ones.
So, let´s put our heads together and make a new, improved form.

My suggestion is the following:

Full name (+in-game name):
Profession (IC "class", in-game class if different, probably professions):
Background story (a few words about where the character comes from, tribe, age, important stages of life):
How would you fit in the Heritage? (IC reason to join):
OOC information (RP experience, how active you are, etc.):

Discuss!

I guess it'll be better to make separate lines for professions and IC/OOC classes. Besides, some people might even not have an IC class at all. Also, asking for some overall personal traits (like alignment, etc.) might be a good idea. Or maybe it'll be more fun to find out when talking to the person ingame?

I think that hos, wsb and ao uses an form similar to them all.

generally the templates are the same because when we make these templates we tend to just copy someone elses. The way I think of an application form is that it should really just be leading you through your character's introduction in a logical sense. Sure, there have to be some OOC questions but I'd be inclined to break the template into a brief OOC section at the start to get it over with and then open into a more developed structure for the IC stuff.

Regarding that IC stuff, although it would mostly fall into "general character background" I consider the following points to be kind of required and might be suggested in some form on the application form. I say "required" because I've made character and not fully developed out these fundamental facts and had to close loopholes and mistakes in their history later on, and it was neither elegant or pretty.

Any friends or family?
Where/When were you born?
What do you do?
For how long?
What skills do you have?
Why do you want to join us?

I like the application form of AO. And to my knowledge have the rest copied it from them ... so why not HoZ as well ^^

Well, you can also split some general questions and make them more IC. Like asking how loyal to the Horde the character is, what does (s)he think about head shrinking, does (s)he eat gnomes, etc. instead of just asking about overall personality.

Of course, very specific questions are good on one hand, Ros, but on the other hand, asking too many questions would scare people from actually filling in the form.

This looks more like an serious form.

Wich will give others some heads up that we are serious rpers, but it could also aswell scare some off.

I like the form Vypra posted. It is asking important points about the character.
I don´t think we should ask the RL age though in the OOC part; ToC had a +18 policy, but we don´t.
The last line, of course, is quite ToC-specific (although I can´t say it´s not true for us as well), so it should be re-worded or left out.

I´d leave the final decision to Ryleen, as she´s the current guild leader. I don´t know if it´s only me who can edit the post, but in that case I am waiting for her approval.
