The Village
Keeping track of who lives where!
Will be updated as more people move in, and the rest of the valley added if needed.

Re: The Village
Gurkans (hehe) hut was not in the village.
He was using "Had'nkas personal hut" as Had told Gurk
It was a hut constructed by one of the remaining ones by the valley entrance. It was a quick fix and Had used it temporary wile he was fixing the bridges.
And yes .. it leaked water and had a slight risk of going over the clif edge into the lake
I told Gukhan this and left it to him what would happen
and wile we are on the subject ... WHERE IS TAMB? I miss the old git
Al huts that have names on them are finished now btw + the one next to Ryleens. The one north of Hadunkas hut will be finished by nightfall. and the last one tomorrow night.

Re: The Village
Gurkhan did force his way to stay in the village for one night. Ryleen turned down the environment control in all huts but hers to just above freezing. But being stupid and stubborn, Gurk stayed anyway.
I believe it was Hadunka's hut he stayed in.

Re: The Village
well .. al the huts in the village is built now ...
Hadunkas next prodjekt will be the "visitors" village and a rapptor pen.
I belivve we did deside were the visitor village would be .. but reminde me .. or come with new sugestion.
Also suggest that we have a forum named Antu'Rha were al threads about Antu'Rha can be gathered.
ma by also have a tread reserved for Maps - ONLY - No post at al, only maps and comments by the cartographer (Ryleen)

Re: The Village
The raptor pens to the west of the village.
Kaz'Jos female raptor is currently nesting in the "3" pen second from the top furthest to the west.
(Any one ... feel free to make a more good looking map )
Edit: Noted as I was watching the map on the forum ... that there is a slight problem is we are to be realistic ...
One of the base instincts for any herbivorous animal (and mothers) is too tun away from the smell carnivorous animals. having them al in sutsh a relative smal aria ... well it can stress them ... mothers and herbivorous alike.
What you al think .. shall we make it more realistic? ... or just keep it the "WoW way" (= do not ask bout such things)

Re: The Village
What herbivorous animals, anyway? Raptors are all meat eaters.
Do you mean livestock for feeding the raptors?

Re: The Village
With the same logic, wolves (or warbears) and raptors can not be kept together either. Just because they are both carnivorous, it doesn't mean they will be friendly to each other; I can imagine a raptor seeing a wolf as some lovely snack...
Also, why separate males and females that much? In a wolf pack - and presumably in a raptor pack -, males and females live together, and they will feel very bad in a one-gender group. Is it for the sole purpose to avoid breeding?
What I suggest is to separate the mounts by species - raptor, wolf, bear, kodo (talbuks and mammoths can probably share a pen with kodos) - instead of gender.

Re: The Village
You have a point Snika ...
Herbivorous = any animal that do not eat meat

Re: The Village
I know what herbivorous means, Hadunka. The point is that the carnivores might not like to share a pen if they are different species. You must not release lions and wolves in the same enclosure or they'll end up killing each other.
I first thought that you're going to keep only raptors, though, no kodos or talbuks.

Re: The Village
the Herbivorous note was because I misunderstood a question you made Snika. You asked why we would have em .. I mistook it as you not knowing what it was (I should read better).
As for the animals ... yes you cannot mix al carnivorous animals in one pen ... *A bit anointed with himself* I should know better. In my defence have I manly handled herbivorous animals growing up on the countryside. As for the separation of gender. Well I did forget one thing on that ... there is (usually) one alpha male among carnivorous pack animals, thus making it easier to keep track of things. long sorry short ... making pens per "mixable animals group" as you suggested is most likely the best one. I will keep the matunety pens, as many animals (not raptors I believe) like to move away from the pack when it is time for the kid. Still ... I am thinking of separating the "stallions" from the females among the herbivorous animals. I gues Hadunka just simply has to keep track of the "heat" cycles and move that female away unless we want a kid ^^
The main reason I separated l in the beginning was that I doubt peps what to find there riding animal "incapacitated" by having a kid
just for the sake of simplicity ... NUDERING AROUND THE HOUSE!! *Had'nkas Raptor "Slise" screeches and runs of in to the yonder*

Re: The Village
Well, having children would not incapacite a raptor from riding, from a very simple reason: they are reptiles. Instead of bearing a live young and taking care of it for years (like those farm animals do that you have worked with), they simply dig a hole in the ground and lay a bunch of eggs. They are technically more like a chicken than a horse (although some trolls would find this statement really offensive).
From the eggs, baby raptors hatch that one mother can take care of, but eggs can be taken away and being raised by a foster mother, be it raptor or troll. Those maternity pens might actually serve as chick-raising pens instead.
We cannot tell much of the social life of raptors because they disappeared from our world millions of years ago, however, I imagine their social life being a mix of wolves (hunting in packs, hierarchy) and ostriches (communal nests, one parent raising chicks).
Before thinking of the species/diet segregation (what I suggested), you should consider what the needs are. There's probably just one riding wolf and one riding kodo in the entire guild, all the other mounts are raptors.
Or simply give the whole thing a shrug, it is only a game after all.
