End of the curse Empty End of the curse

Post  Kaz'jo Sun May 02, 2010 1:45 am

A long, painful shriek coursed trough the spirit link. Everybody that heard it were both surprised and scared. This amount of pain can be felt only by someone close to insanity. Troll, tightly chained and lying on the ground, was screaming. Trough his pain he saw two people talking, but he couldn't tell who are they and what are they talking about. He just had to warn them.
"RUN!" - he managed to yell trough the link.

"I killed many without remorse. Without a single feeling, I slaughtered orcs, trolls, elves, humans, dwarves and many more. I never felt anything other than rage. I never cared. I killed your brother... our brother, our father, our enemies... I was never feeling pain because of it, never even gone sad. I tried to kill the ones you valued. The ones you admired. Even more.

So why do I care now?"

Chained troll was desperately trying to free himself. He was growling all the time, his eyes full of rage.

"I cannot live along as I wanted. One of us must die. That's what did he said. Remember? If one lives, another one suffers. When one dies, other is free. I didn't knew what does he mean before, but now I do. One of us must die. This is not my life."

"You cannot do it! You deserve better fate. I won't let you die!"

"I never asked about permission, you idiot. Now listen up."

Troll stopped to move, surprised. He calmed instantly and leaned to the pillar, trying to use it to stand up.

"I never trained that much to let it be wasted. I'll leave you everything I learned. Fighting, speech, all. You will finally start to speak Orcish properly. Remember. The spear you got was not cursed. It's that shaman who did it, he cursed himself to it. We must break that, so the one controlling this body in that time will die with shaman's soul."

Troll stood up and started walking. He swayed and nearly fell down again, but he resisted it somehow.

"I was born when you was. We both felt the same, yet I chose the other way you did. That's why we are so unique. You will remain, while I will be gone. Remember. There always is a rage within us. Do not hide it, or it will backfire on you."

He moved closer and closer to two huts at the end of the village. He could see smoke from the bonfire between them.

"I demand of you one thing. I die for your life, for the people you live with. I die for you. Do not lose them. You are no longer tribeless savage. You're now the Heritage member and nobody else. DO NOT let it be destroyed, or I will find a way to get back, and you will beg me to be killed when I do so."

Troll arrived between both huts. He stood and looked up at two persons sitting there - female troll and a male tauren.

"I don't know what she has in her, that people are willing to die for her. But it works."
----------
She spotted him and walked toward.
- Kaz'jo! What happened.
- Not over yet.

He was leaning on the pillar nearby, frowning in pain.
- I cannot live the life I wanted. It's not my life.
- What do you mean?
- I have to die. So he can live.
- Didn't you wanted to merge with him, to live together?
- It's impossible. If one dies, another one can live. That's what he told before. One must be destroyed for the another one to be free.

He frowned in pain again.
- Nevermind. Bring me my spear.
- Why?
- Do it... before I lose control.

She passed him and got into her hut. Troll named Kaz'jo - as it wasn't his true name - clenched his jaw in unbearable pain. He could hardly stand.
Female troll came back with the spear.
- Good. Break it.
She hesitated for a moment, but broke the spear in half.
----------
His mind exploded with pain and loud scream, yet the body didn't gave any sound. From the spear fled the cursed soul. He spotted that and pursued it. Free, unbound. He could finally get the one who started all this chain of suffering.
He charged up and confronted the soul. Still filled with pain and rage, attacked the astral being. As he was the same being now, he managed to harm the soul. Part of his pain disappeared. He continued to attack, until he wasn't free. Free from pain, hatred, anger and rage. He looked below him, to see a troll kneeling on the ground. The body he wanted to use, body of a man he wanted to destroy. Before.
It was like the eternity, to watch him going along with the others - female troll and another male, who arrived - the shaman that gave him hope - and finding someone else. They talked, then took the troll they found to one of huts.
"I remember... Her name was Ryleen."
It was the proper time.
He materialized, while Kaz'jo was outside and the others already entered the hut.
"Repair the spear. It will remember you about me, and all that you're fighting for since today. Never forget"

He felt he's disappearing, yet wasn't scared by that. Like he was expecting such things. He looked at the world that just opened before him.
"So. What awaits me now?"
He stepped trough.

Village, as usual, was silent and calm. If anyone could see it now, he will probably tell that everyone are in their huts because of rain. But nobody was in the huts. Only one troll - wearing something that was looking like regular horde armor - was standing in the rain - near huge bonfire, blazing like it was immune to rain - grasping two huge axes in his hands. Except of that, the village was as usual.
That, and the other inhabtant of this place.
He was wearing the same armor as the one near fire. But he was wielding enormous sword instead of axes. A long chain was attached to this sword. It's wielder was looking exactly like troll close to bonfire, except of vicious face expression and darkness flowing around him, covering half of the village in deep blackness.
- Our fight isn't over yet - spoke the one with a sword.
- It will never be over - replied axe wielder.
- Indeed. You know you can't win. Even if you may fight back sometimes, I am way more powerful than you are. I am the TRUE owner of this world and body, and both you and this new weakling now about it.
- It was mine, and ya know it too well. But ya are evil and tryin' to kill everyone.
- So what? All that is yours, is rightfully MINE! I WILL have it, and I WILL kill EVERY SINGLE ONE of them!
- It's not. And ya won't threaten them anymore.

The dark person laughed maniacally.
- You really think this little ritual of hers will do anything? If you will remain in this body, I will too. You cannot win!
- And who said
- replied another one with cunning smile - I will remain?
Sword wielder stopped to laugh suddenly.
- What do you mean?
- I sworn to protect'em all, so I will, even if I hav'ta be contained in a sword. But not alone.
- You are insane. You will be cursed forever in this blasted blade!
- Not alone. I'll take ya with me!

He instantly charged, slamming his opponent back. Dark troll swayed and sweared, quickly spinning around in attempt to cut axe wielder in half. Attack missed, and darkness turned back a bit, instantly flowing in front of another vicious slash. This slash was blocked by an axe, and the sword grounded by that axe owner's foot. Troll instantly jumped up and slashed towards his opponent very powerfully and brutally, then turned weapon around and attacked again, while falling towards the ground. Axe - partially missing it's target - stroke the ground and got stuck in it.
Dark troll, bleeding from two slash wounds crossing on his chest, pulled the chain attached to sword's hilt. His weapon flew towards him, freeing other axe. His opponent grabbed his weapon immediately.
Sword wielder gnashed his teeth and jumped towards his enemy with a loud and vicious battlecry. Instead of striking him, he spinned the chain, making his sword to whirl repeatedly and insanely fast, creating a whirlwind of steel and darkness around him and keeping his enemy on distance. But the other troll already knew this move. He pretended that he wants to walk aside and dodge the sword, but he jumped towards and slided below it instead. Before his opponent realized what's happening, it was too late to react. Powerful strike threw him back. His sword fallen on the ground with loud cling.
- It's... not...over... YET! - he said, before hitting the ground and falling unconscious. Darkness around instantly faded, remaining only close around him and his weapon. The other troll sighed heavily and freed his second axe from the ground. He sat back by the fire, cleaning his weapons and resting before the next encounter.
----------
Somewhere in Antu'Rah, troll named Kaz'jo was kneeling on the ground, grasping his head with pain on his face. His sword, wrapped in dark leathers, was on the ground, just by his side. Headache was painful, but in the moment it was just fading away. Kaz's face changed - for a second, he was looking tired and very sorrowful. It passed in a blink of an eye.
He stood up and picked his sword, still holding his left hand on forehead.
- They're finished... I can't be late for my training. Gul'jun will be mad - he spoke - probably to himself, as nobody else was around - and moved towards the training grounds.

A mighty headache coursed through Kaz'jo again. He fallen down the crate he was sitting on. He couldn't recognize two trolls who entered his hut, yet he had a feeling he knows them.
----------
He awoke in darkness, armored and wielding his sword. The place was dark and twisted image of the village he was in. It was empty, except one troll, lying by the bonfire. Ground over him and his axes was not dark. Kaz'jo walked towards him.
- It's pointless - malicious voice sounded behind. - He won't awake by some time... until our next battle.
Kaz'jo turned around, to see someone looking exactly like himself - apart of vicious face expression, eyes of a murderer and darkness flowing of him.
- I told you we will meet after, didn't I?
- So it was you?
- asked Kaz.
- Of course. You see, I was a bit surprised when you interrupted our duel, but he was even more. I managed to defeat him with ease... as i will do with you soon.
- You won't defeat me. We already are reading some ritual...
- To get rid of me, yeah right. But What if I escape before?
- I won't allow you.
- And what will you do? How will you stop me before taking you over and killing everyone? Ryleen, Gul'jun, that shaman who cursed me with hope... And you know who will I begin with with?
- sprit smiled maliciously.
- You don't mean... - Kaz made one step back. Spirit read his face expression and made very vicious smile.
- Who, Chabat? Of course I do - the smile became purely evil at the moment.
Kaz'jo stepped back again... then something broke. A second ago frightened, now full of anger and rage, he charged towards his enemy, bashing away both him and the darkness over the place. Spirit was shocked, and in this moment was cut brutally by Kaz's sword. With mix of anger and shock on it's face, dark troll stood back and watched his wound. After a long while, he turned his face towards Kaz'jo.
- Well well... nice effort. You're more of a warrior I thought... - he smiled mysteriously. - But you didn't defeated me. And I will back... for them...
Calming slowly, but still enraged, Kaz'jo stared into falling darkness.
- No way... There's NO WAY I will allow YOU to do THAT! Stay...
----------
- AWAY! - Kaz'jo shouted out loud, before he realized that he's conscious again.
----------
The next day in the evening, decision was already made. He lied on the ground, while Gul'jun was beginning his ritual. The brew he gave him already started to work - he was fading away...
----------
He stood in the same place again. Dark spirit was waiting.
- All the time I spared my energy to fight you... You didn't even felt headaches, did you? The third one... you know, the one they all knew first... was waiting too, but it seems the sword already took him... so it's time for us. You came to fight me "honorably". Hah. I will beat you down and make to live in that blade for eternity. I will win now. I will do EVERYTHING that I promised to both of you.
- You won't - Kaz sounded cold and untouched by his words.
- We will see - replied dark troll and rushed towards his enemy.
Swords crossed, then again and again. Furious, insanely quick attacks were hitting eachother, blinks of light and darkness crossing, flowing around themselves and vanishing. Dance of death began. One parried attack was countered, Kaz'jo felt the blood flowing from his side. He slashed powerfully, using the fact his enemy was close, wounding him deeply. Spirit sweared and spinned around, Kaz'jo dodged, but still got a shallow cut on his forehead.
Dark being waved the chain, surrounding itself with a whirlwind of steel and darkness. Kaz'jo dodged flying sword, jumping towards his enemy. Spirit smiled viciously and pulled the chain. Kaz, leaded by instinct, ducked - that was a good choice, as the chain was just about to grasp around him tightly. By missing, dark spirit had to dodge it's own sword. Kaz'jo used that for his advantage and momentally rushed towards the his enemy, making a brutal slash that nearly cut the spirit in half. Dark being screamed with anger and pain. In the same moment, a powerful force pulled it back and severed from this world.
Kaz'jo panted heavily and fallen on his knees. He was finally free.
----------
"A nice performance, I must tell. I was watching you since some time now. You're honorably, it seems... at least in a few matters. Keep this up, and maybe... we will talk again soon."
Before he started to wonder whose voice did he just heard, Kaz'jo awoke. He realized that for the first time since he remembers - not for long, but always - he was free of the evil spirit and it's threatens. He could finally start to live without being afraid of himself.
