The Return Letter Empty The Return Letter

Post  Sertah Sun Dec 27, 2009 8:05 pm

*This letter is written on a yellowing parchment, with spidery, geometrically irregular letters in a dark ink scrawled across it*
Greetings, ya noblest of tribes.
I, Sertah the last witch of warpwood would like to finally commit myself to ya ranks. I try to escape, ya see, to differen' worlds, but aint no distance that could stop Shango from callin' me back. I have been hiding for too long and i must accept my duty and begin again my servitude to Zandalar, and 'is royal highness.

*The letter is ended with a elaborate signature, that, like the rest of the letter looks like it was written by a claw dipped in ink*

Character name:
Sertah

Character class:
Witch (Shaman)

Character level:
80

Professions:
Skinning and Herbalism

Why do you want to join us?:
Quite simply because the heritage is the best troll guild out there, and i've been gone for a while, i want to return to RP in a more structured way, and have a more regular RP experience.

How often do you play WoW?:
Whenever i'm not at college or have work to do.

Roleplaying experience:
I've been roleplaying since i started WoW almost three years ago on three servers, two RP and one RPPVP. On scarshield I've played a few different characters, but retired most of them by now, but on Sertah and others i have role played with the heritage fairly frequently, but have been guild less a lot of the time. My first Role Playing Guild was the Ashen Order.

Character history:
Sertah is an old girl, born in the Jungles of Un'Goro, but with tribal heritage that stretches back to the Warpwood tribe of feralas. As one of the only surviving females, she is Supreme Witch of the warpwoods, a largely redundant (Since the tribe has so few members and has basically disbanded) title that she clings on to fervently. She is skilled in the art of Elemental magic and also of Voodoo, focused more on the lifegiving, nutritous voodoo than the dark, corrupting and hexing side of it. Like all good witches she has a vast knowledge of botany and herbalism, but also an extensive memory of ancient lore. In the past, Sertah has been connected with the nefarious twilight's hammer clan, and was known to conduct secret dealings with them.
She has no direct family except for her estranged daughter, Yala, who fell under the influence of black forces many years ago. More recently, Sertah was troubled by visions and warnings from her ancestors about a black shadow that would devour azeroth. Filled with horror, she sought out away to escape and eventually opened a portal to an un-touched world called Halbrius. She was unable to stay however, as her conscience and her spiritual ties to Azeroth were too strong for her to abandon.

If you have any questions i'd love to answer them!

I haven't rped much with you, but I remember it as being very good. Smile While your background doesn't follow conventional lore, I don't see anything that seems all that off with it. Only thing I wonder about is what kind of troll she is? Up until the Darkspears joined the horde, there really wasn't any other kinds of trolls than sand trolls present in Kalimdor (And the Shatterspears... no one knows when they got there). But living in Un'goro and Feralas it sounds more like forest or jungle trolls, both having their homes in the eastern kingdoms normally.

Well, in the not so ancient times of Warcraft three, there were trolls living in the forests of Kalimdor, known as dark trolls in the campaign, so i thought it wasn't too far a stretch of the imagination for the same sort of trolls to exist in Feralas, a wholly similiar environment. I can't imagine that the dark trolls came with the horde, because when grom reached ashenvale, there were some already there, and since they are an ancient race (If not the most ancient mortal race) i thought it plausible that some may have been on that side of azeroth beofre the sundering. I know it is taking liberties with the lore a little bit, but it's not too impossible is it?

Ah, i remember Sertah from a few occasions at the Broken Keel. Had some good rp with you that sadly i never had the time to follow up on Sad

My question would be how Sertah got involved with the Twilight's Hammer (kinda evil side of shaman magics) when you've stated that She tends towards the more nurturing/ lighter side of the Art?

"Supreme Witch of the Warpwoods" kinda sounds slightly sinister too Wink

It's true, Sertah wasn't always a good guy, if i had to do one of those alignment dealies she'd be chaotic neutral. But the twilight's hammer is where her elemental skill comes above her voodoo, as the twilight's hammer worship elementals and the elemental lieutenants. Ah, i wasn't clear. Her Voodoo is focused more around the gentler side of things, with her elemental magic, she can be as nasty as she wants. Smile
EDIT: She became involved with the twilight's hammer clan around the time those lot were mucking about in silithus, she was seduced by the power of the old gods ya see!

Not impossible at all. We're just sticklers when it comes to troll lore Wink Your explanation sounds fine to me. If making up your own tribe is good enough for a certain Ice-troll general, 2nd in command of the AO, i don't see why you can't do it Wink

Ah, i think i see where you're coming from now. Vypra has her darker side too that come from the influence of Shango as Loa of Chaos and Storms. Twisted Evil

Haha! Making up your own tribe of five-fingered (and, according to a piece of art by Ryleen, six-toed) trolls!

Oh, please drop the issue of the toes! It was a mistake! =P

Anyway, I realised we didn't tell you what to do next. Smile Either make arrangements to meet one of the officers ingame for an interview, or show up for our guild meeting (mondays 2030, valley of spirits) or our dinners (fridays 2000, valley of spirits)
