Guild Meeting on 12th January 2008 Empty Guild Meeting on 12th January 2008

At the meeting were Ryleen, Bwangoo, Corigo, Djinja, Chabat, Lyranne and myself.

This guild meeting was the first to take place in the new location that was chosen last week. Everyone agreed that it is more suitable than the Ring of Valour although, as we discovered, interruptions cannot be totally avoided.

There was no news about the disagreement between the Greywolf Tribe and the Warsong Blades that resulted in the duels a few weeks ago. Also, as far as anyone knows, the House of Sylvanas have not yet declared a date for an attack on Southshore. Perhaps they have changed their plans.

Ryleen reported that she has so far received no replies to the letters she sent to the other guilds about the sample of Blight that she is keeping safe, ready for the other guilds to help find an antidote. Fortunately, the injuries that Ryleen received when handling this dangerous substance are healing well.

I reported that Ryleen, Tanuuka, Vypra and me made a raid into Zul'Gurub yesterday (sun-day). It went very well and we were able to seriously weaken the forces of the Blood God. I intend to organise more raids into the city in the future and any troll that is up to the challenge is welcome to join us. By recovering various items from the cursed Hakkari we can prove our strength and commitment to the trolls of Zandalar. These raids can also provide a good training ground for us to practice fighting in a team.

Thankfully, no-one had seen Shadowtroll or had any trouble from his band of villainous pirates in the last week. Anyone who does encounter any of them is advised to avoid them if possible. Each time we cross blades with Shadowtroll or the Bloodsail Blackhands it just brings more troubles upon us and upon innocent bystanders. Let's try to give them no cause to cross any of us.

I announced a change to the rank of Emissary. Having given this matter a lot of thought, I have decided that the role of emissary is not working as well as we would like. With the recent departures of Astroth and then Nenya, Lyranne is now our only emissary. Most have stayed with us for only a month or two.

Two of the key aims for our guild should be to help develop good diplomatic relations between the Horde and the trolls of Zandalar, and to teach both trolls (many of whom have not grown up in troll communities) and the other races of the Horde about the true heritage of trolls. To help this second aim it would be useful if a suitable representative from each of the other Horde races were to live among us and learn our ways. They would then be able to spread this knowledge to their own kind.

Therefore, I invited Lyranne to become a Bloodsister within our guild. This will mean that she will become an 'honorary troll', learn our ways and take a more active part in our guild. Once she becomes a Bloodsister she will be able to be promoted and even take on an officer position within the guild. I am pleased to say that Lyranne agreed to my proposal and we will arrange a suitable ritual in the near future.

Because Lyranne has been with us for nearly a year and has proved herself many times over we are able to make her a Bloodsister straight away. If individuals from the other Horde races approach us we will consider making them Outsiders and, if they prove themselves over time, they too may be made bloodsisters or bloodbrothers within the guild. However, we remain a troll guild, and only a handful of non-trolls will ever be accepted into our ranks.

There's been a small misunderstanding. Ry hasn't sent the Blight anywhere yet. She sent letters to the guild leaders, informing them that she has it and asking them to prepare the people who are to deal with it, and tell her who they are, so that she can deliver the samples. But none of them have answered.

And don't forget that Corigo was promised a Veteran position in a few months if I keep up the good behavior. I just ruined it for myself, didn't? Rolling Eyes
I suppose I just wanted to say thanks that you actually half-considered it. afro Thanks.

Good guild meeting, by the way.

Sorry, Ryleen. You're quite right. I was in a bit of a rush when I wrote the notes. So I'll edit them now. And thanks for taking the time to make sure I record things properly.

And Corigo, yes, you've ruined it. Now you'll have to do something amazing and heroic to become a Veteran. (Ha-haah!)

I still think Ry has a better idea for what Lyranne should go though. The ritual will need to be very much more spiritual than just saying 'here you are, a troll. Now grow some tusks and light the fire, wench!'. Having done the shaman quests as Slyraen (and a troll I had long -long- ago called Deyyania) the processes for becoming a shaman are steeped in spiritualism, as are most of the troll, um... things. I can't say I know what to expect, but it should be something that will change Lyranne in a meaningful way (I still wish I could learn troll though Sad ). But whatever's decided, it should at least be an enjoyable RP experience.

I agree. I think it would be nice to make it a real thing, rather than something symbolical. Something that actually might change her, since Dey seem to like that idea too. Perhaps it could be tied together with her finding a patron loa as we talked about on the meeting? First something to make her more like a troll, so that the loa will see her, and then the whole vision thing that you'd get in the normal ritual for finding your loa. or something... I'm no shaman or priest Smile

I think, because we're dealing with a game that has magic, and because of the differences between the various schools, it might be best to have Lyranne reborn as a shaman, of sorts. Basically completely accepting her losing of the light, and fully embracing spiritual magic, if that makes sense?
