Guild Meeting on 5th January 2009 Empty Guild Meeting on 5th January 2009

At the meeting were Ryleen, Lyranne, Chabat, Stargaazer, Bersekeger, Gen'jin and myself.

First of all I mentioned that I had found a possible permanent location for our guild meetings. Meeting in the Ring of Valour was only ever a temporary arrangement. It is too big, with too many echoes and dark corners to be ideal for our meetings. After the meeting we will go to check out the new venue.

Ryleen reported that someone (who shall remain nameless) has managed to get hold of a sample of the Blight that Archnazg acquired. This person passed the sample on to Ryleen. Unfortunately, because it wasn't in a suitable sealed container, Ryleen was very briefly exposed to this noxious substance and she suffered some burns to her hands. Ryleen has recovered, however, and she doesn't think that she will suffer any further symptoms. As was previously planned, Ryleen will now pass on portions of this sample to Hinun (Greywolf Tribe), Ishamuhale (Clearwater Tribe) and Broxxar (Bleeding Axe Clan) so that their alchemists can try to formulate an antidote.

Ryleen gave us an update on the outcome of last week's duel between the Greywolf Tribe and the Warsong Blades. Liontooth and Ryleen have been discussing the attack on Southshore that is planned by the House of Sylvanas. It was agreed to meet again on three-day this week to discuss the matter further.

I announced that I had decided to make a change to the titles of the leaders of the guild. Since Warlord Snicka went missing I took over leadership of the guild. But I am not ready to take on the title of 'Warlord' (And I really don't like the sound of 'Warlady'). So I proposed that I should take the title of Steward of the Guild and that Ryleen, as the senior officer and second-in-command, should take the title 'Primal' that I previously held. Ryleen and the other members agreed to this change.

I announced that, because all of the other troll members at today's meeting had been with the guild for a long time and had proven themselves many times over, that they should each get a promotion. This recognises that these members have now reached a position of authority in the guild by their long service and by becoming so experienced in their chosen fields. Chabat, Stargaazer, Gen'jin and Bersekeger were therefore promoted from Kindred to the rank of Veteran. (Other long-standing members are also due for promotion when the opportunity arises.)

Finally I noted that, although there is no promotion allowable for our Emissaries, both Lyranne and Nenya hold important positions within the guild. Everyone should call upon our emissaries whenever they have need of their specialist knowledge. Lyranne also reminded us all that she is a skilled enchanter who is more than willing to help members add powerful enchantments to their gear.

* NOTE *
After the meeting, Chabat, Gen'jin and myself inspected the new location and decided that it will be used for future guild meetings. The location will be revealed to members by using the Spirit Talk, so as to avoid it reaching the ears of those that we would prefer didn't interrupt our meetings.

I can only assume Nénya left the Heritage without telling anyone Sad I think we need to do something about this problem, and soon. We already have an applicant for the forsaken Emissary - Gwenderlin, but I feel there's an endemic flaw to the role itself.

To my mind, that flaw seems to be that we don't actually have a direct IC need for the emissaries.

We have close ties with the Greywolf tribe, and as Star was IC'ly raised by tauren, we don't really need somebody to inform us of their culture and history.

The main Forsaken contingient is the HoS who we don't trust and who don't trust us. So any forsaken emissary is going to have their work cut out for them there (also, Gwen isn't, strictly speaking, forsaken. Althoguh enough people assume she is that it shouldn't matter Wink ).

The only sindorei group we have is Sang Real and i've yet to see any more of their rp than i saw at the ill-fated inter-guild meetings Arch organised. Lyranne doesn't really seem to have much love for her own people either and (barring the last week or so) hasn't frequented Silvermoon for some time.

The emissary we most likely need at the moment is an Orc to try and repair the damaged relations we have with the Warsong Blades. Or at least help us come to an understanding of why they felt the need to ally themselves with the House.

That said, i'm sure if we put our heads together, we can come up with something. Time to get our thinking caps on eh? Smile

'Barring the last week or so'? The only thing I've done in that -horrid- City is respec (and yes, I do that an awful lot). The biggest problem with Silvermoon is that it was designed to represent a sprawling Metropolis, busy and bustling with life and activity. However, unless there are a 100 people there, it feels more like a Necropolis. It does not give the right feel for intimate RP, and for anything less than grandiose events, the space feels woefully under-used. I think The Sparrows should make a concerted effort to bring life back to this insanely designed place. Worse yet is that people who have their RP characters live there, tend to only speak thalassian, or are casual racists >.>

In the last month since I started exploiting the RP place resources of Silvermoon I have to say a lot has changed , in the good meaning. Indeed you feel lonely while running around these huge buildings etc. Anyhow as said activity has raised dramatically and now I find a lot of (good) random RP in Silvermoon as well.

Thanks go for this to the support of Sang Real and everyone who helped me establish some events there Smile You can nowadays see the HoS there too , sniffing around trying to catch a pirate or two. ^.^

Edt: I have to say that indeed many prefer to speak thalassian but about the racist thing -not a sign anymore tbh. The last racist comments came from HoS on the Black Curtain Nights event. But even the random guys there are far away from RPing the casual arrogant thistle addictive racist.
