How about a chatbox?

I've recently noticed that several forums (such as We Are Legion - which I recommend to everyone) have a chatbox, where you can communicate with the people also browsing the forum. It might be a useful thing, although I noticed that it's not used very often.
My question is, do you like the idea of such a box? Or do you think it's completely unnecessary? I'll gladly create it, but if it will be completely un-used, then it's needless.
And if I create it, should it be OOC, semi-IC (written it your character's style but not part of your character plot), or full IC?

the we are legion one is not greatly used as its not yet got a core of ppl that will be on-line so much yet. However, the 'shoutbox' i set up that spans ToC, the Anglers and the ally guild 'Coldridge Elite' is very popular. I'd reccomend an IC- out of storyline approach similar to what 'prevails' on lfrp atm. but...up 2 u guys

I've created the chatbox, it was much easier than I thought. I think it should be either OOC or partly IC, but not a place for actual RP that affects the storylines. Feel free to join it when you're browsing the forums!
